Photo and signature size for exam forms

Every number here comes from the exam's own notice or instructions, linked below, not from other websites. Many sites still show old sizes; where an exam now takes a live photo, we say so.

Before you upload

Live photos are now common. JEE Main, NEET, CUET, UPSC, IBPS and SBI ask for an uploaded photo and a live photo taken with your webcam or phone while you apply. SSC (CGL, GD Constable and Stenographer 2026) takes only a live photo: there is no photo to upload.
Fit inside the range, not just under the maximum. A file below the minimum KB is rejected too.
Check your own notice. Sizes change between exams and years; the date we read each notice is shown.

IBPS PO/MT-XVI (2026)

Photograph: 20 KB to 50 KB, 200 x 230 px, JPEG. Light-coloured, preferably white. Recent passport style colour photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm). 200 x 230 pixels is stated as preferred. No caps, hats or dark glasses; religious headwear allowed if the face is not covered. A live photo is also captured through a webcam or mobile phone during registration. Make it to this size
Signature: 10 KB to 20 KB, 140 x 60 px, JPEG. White paper, black ink pen. 140 x 60 pixels is stated as preferred. Not in capital letters. Make it to this size
Left thumb impression: 20 KB to 50 KB, 240 x 240 px, 200 DPI, JPEG. White paper, black or blue ink. 240 x 240 pixels at 200 DPI (3 cm x 3 cm) is stated as preferred. Right thumb if the left thumb is missing.
Handwritten declaration: 50 KB to 100 KB, 800 x 400 px, 200 DPI, JPEG. White paper, black ink. 800 x 400 pixels at 200 DPI (10 cm x 5 cm) is stated as preferred. In English, in the candidate's own handwriting, not in capital letters.

IBPS Clerk CSA-XVI (2026)

Photograph: 20 KB to 50 KB, 200 x 230 px, JPEG. Light-coloured, preferably white. Recent passport style colour photograph. 200 x 230 pixels is stated as preferred. No caps, hats or dark glasses; religious headwear allowed if the face is not covered. A live photo is also captured through a webcam or mobile phone. Same left thumb (240 x 240 px, 20 to 50 KB) and declaration (800 x 400 px, 50 to 100 KB) sizes as IBPS PO. The 10th standard certificate is an A4 PDF of up to 500 KB.
Signature: 10 KB to 20 KB, 140 x 60 px, JPEG. White paper, black ink pen. 140 x 60 pixels is stated as preferred.

SBI Clerk and PO (2026)

Photograph: 20 KB to 50 KB, 200 x 230 px, JPEG. Light-coloured, preferably white. Recent passport style colour photograph. 200 x 230 pixels is stated as preferred. No caps, hats or dark glasses; religious headwear allowed if the face is not covered. A live photo is also captured through a webcam or mobile phone. The SBI PO 2026 detailed advertisement (18 June 2026) gives the same photo, signature, left thumb (240 x 240 px, 20 to 50 KB) and declaration (800 x 400 px, 50 to 100 KB) sizes. Make it to this size
Signature: 10 KB to 20 KB, 140 x 60 px, JPEG. White paper, black ink pen. 140 x 60 pixels is stated as preferred.

NEET (UG) 2026

Photograph: 10 KB to 200 KB, JPEG. White. Recent passport size photograph, colour or black and white. Face (without mask) covers 80% of the image, ears visible. A live photograph is also captured through the camera while filling the form. Make it to this size
Signature: 10 KB to 100 KB, JPEG. The bulletin gives 10 to 200 KB for the fingers and thumb impressions on page 21 and 50 to 300 KB on page 22; we do not pick one.

JEE (Main) 2027

Photograph: 10 KB to 200 KB, JPEG. White. Recent passport size photograph in colour. Face (without mask) covers 80% of the image, ears visible. A live photograph is also captured through the camera while filling the form. Make it to this size
Signature: 10 KB to 100 KB, JPEG. Clearly legible. The Class 10 certificate or marks sheet, and any disability certificate, go up as a PDF of 50 to 300 KB.

CUET (UG) 2026

Photograph: 10 KB to 200 KB, JPEG. White. Recent passport size photograph in colour. Face (without mask) covers 80% of the image, ears visible. A live photograph is also captured through the camera while filling the form. Make it to this size
Signature: 10 KB to 50 KB, JPEG. Clearly legible. The signature limit is 10 to 50 KB, lower than JEE Main and NEET (100 KB). A disability certificate is a PDF of 50 to 300 KB; an identity proof is a JPG of 10 to 200 KB.

UPSC

Photograph: 20 KB to 200 KB, JPEG. Plain white. Recent colour passport size photograph, file named "photo". Face covers at least 75% (3/4) of the photo, both ears visible, looking at the camera. A live photograph is also captured and matched with this photo; a mismatch stops the application. Make it to this size
Triple signature: 20 KB to 100 KB, JPEG. Plain white paper, black ink. Sign three times, one below the other, and scan all three in one image. Image dimensions "350 - 500 pixels"; file named "signature". Make it to this size

SSC CGL, GD Constable and Stenographer 2026

Signature: 10 KB to 20 KB, JPEG. Image about 6.0 cm wide by 2.0 cm high. No photo upload: the application captures a live photo through the camera, and a pre-existing photo leads to rejection. Live photo without cap, mask or glasses, full frontal view. The SSC Constable (GD) 2026 notice (para 8.7) and the Stenographer Grade C and D 2026 notice give the same signature size and the same live photo rule. CHSL and MTS 2026 notices were not out on the date we checked. Make it to this size

RRB NTPC and Station Master 2026

Signature: 30 KB to 49 KB, 100 DPI, JPEG. White paper, black ink pen. At least 140 pixels wide by 60 pixels high. Scanned at 100 DPI or more. Running (joined) handwriting, not block or capital letters. No photo upload: the application captures a live photo on a plain white background. CEN No. 08/2026 (Station Master) gives the same signature size and live photo rule. The signature sits in a 35 mm x 20 mm box on the form. 1050 x 600 px is our working size, not an RRB rule: it keeps the 35:20 shape, and in our tests a cleaned signature at the default 400 x 150 px stayed near 14 KB, below the 30 KB minimum, while 1050 x 600 px landed at 37 to 38 KB. CTET September 2026

Photograph: 10 KB to 100 KB, JPEG. Latest photograph; it is matched with you at the exam centre. Image 3.5 cm wide by 4.5 cm high. Make it to this size
Signature: 3 KB to 30 KB, JPEG. Image 3.5 cm long by 1.5 cm high.

UPPSC

Photograph: 50 KB, 200 DPI, JPEG. Image 5 cm wide by 6 cm high, scanned at 200 DPI in true colour. Paste the photo on white paper, sign in the space below it, then scan and crop each.
Signature: 30 KB, 200 DPI, JPEG. Image 6 cm wide by 3 cm high, scanned at 200 DPI in true colour. Full signature, not initials, and not in capital letters.

MPSC

Photograph: 50 KB, JPEG. Recent colour passport size photo, full face, facing the camera, no shadows or red eyes. Size 3.5 cm wide by 4.5 cm high. File name of 10 characters at most. No watermark, stamp or scanning app name on the image. Make it to this size
Signature: 50 KB, JPEG. Signed by the applicant only. Size 3.5 cm wide by 1.5 cm high. File name of 10 characters at most. No watermark or scanning app name on the image.
